Quiero vivir en una caja de zapatos

El primer post internacional llega a Alma Singer de la mano de Maru, mi amiga peque enardecida con la ambientación de su nuevo hogar, ese glorioso cuasi PH propio que estoy segura lo va a dejar tan lindo, habitable y canchero cuando termine su expedición Martha Stewart que Casa Chaucha le va a querer dedicar una edición especial (¡como pasé el chivo jaja!*).

El tema fue así. Maru me mandó una foto divina de un ambiente cuya silla llamó poderosamente su atención y despertó su faceta caprichito. “La quiero Vero, ¿dónde la consigo?”. No se si la data que le pasé en respuesta le sirvió o no pero en el mismo mail le retruqué con un “¡¿de dónde sacaste esta foto?!”. Me dijo que busque Red SHoes en Facebook así que, después de pasar por 10 páginas fetichistas con los zapatos rojos llegué a este espacio virtual que me hace desear vivir en Ann Arbor, MI, USA, para poder visitar la tienda real.

Catherine Thursby es la dueña de este local y su mail en respuesta al mío me pareció tan optimista, feliz y dulce como cada cosa que crea y vende ahí. Es más, en su página de Facebook se lee que comenzó esta tiendita como un pequeño sueño tonto pero que ella considera que si realmente seguís tu corazón, podés lograr lo que quieras (¿el nivel cursi les suena familiar? ¿eh?).

Catherine se presenta como una persona como cualquier otra que busca dejar su estampa en el mundo aportando objetos e ideas únicas para el hogar mientras hace malabares con su tiempo para lavar la ropa en casa, ir a buscar a los chicos al colegio y hacer las compras en el supermercado. Por suerte puede lograrlo, y todos nos beneficiamos con sus proyectos, aunque en el hemisferio sur sólo podamos disfrutarlos en fotos.

En Red SHoes pueden encontrar objetos shabby chic, vintage y para chicos, productos de boticario, joyas, libros y papelería. Además, Catherine hace a mano almohadones, muñecos de tela, pinturas, jabones para chicos, y tarjetas, así como también restaura y pinta muebles. Todo tiene su impronta alegre y ecléctica, ¿y por qué no empezar esta semana corta con una dosis de color y buenas ondas? Sí, ya se, los empalagué, pero bueno, a veces no puedo controlar al unicornio feliz que llevo adentro.

*Aclaro que esto lo escribí ayer, antes de ver a Jara en Casa Chaucha jaja!

I want to live in a shoe box

Alma Singer’s first international post arrives with my friend Maru´s email, who is currently very excited decorating her new house, a glorious PH which I’m sure she’ll end up fixing it so beautifully that once her Martha Stewart expedition is over Casa Chaucha will what to dedicate a special edition on it.

This is how it goes. Maru send me a divine picture of a living room equipped with a chair that caught her attention and awakened her whimsical side. “I want it Vero, where can I find it?”. I’m not sure if the data I send her was of any use but in that same response I asked back “where did you get this picture?!”. She replied that I had to search in Facebook for Red SHoes and, after cruising several pages of red shoes’ fetishists, I finally found this virtual space that makes me want to live in Ann Arbor, MI, USA, so as to visit the real one.

Catherine Thursby is the owner of this store and her mail in reply to mine seemed so optimistic, happy and sweet as everything she creates and sells there. Furthermore, in her Facebook page you can read that she started this little shop with just a silly dream, but she truly believes that if you follow your heart, you can achieve ANYTHING! (does the level of cheerfulness rings any bell?)

Catherine presents herself as a person like any other that seeks to leave her stamp in this world by sharing unique objects and ideas to implement in any home while she juggles with her time to do the laundry, go pick up the kids at school and do the groceries. Luckily she can accomplish it and we all benefit from her projects, although some of us can only enjoy them in pictures.

In Red SHoes you can find vintage and shabby chic objects, many others for kids, apothecary resources, jewelry, books and papers, among others. As well, Catherine hand makes pillows, dolls, paitings, soaps for kids, and cards, as well as hand painted furniture. Everything you see has a cheerful feeling, so why don’t we start this short week with this colourful and good vibe dose? I know I might be cloying you but sometimes I just can’t control the happy unicorn that lives inside of me.
